🖌️ Oracal 631 Removable Vinyl – Application Instructions

Surface Preparation:

  • Clean the surface with a mild detergent and water.
  • Make sure it is completely dry and free of dust, oil, or debris.

Cutting & Weeding:

  • Cut your design using recommended cutter settings.
  • Weed excess vinyl carefully, leaving the design on the backing.

Transfer Application:

  • Apply a suitable transfer tape over the vinyl design.
  • Position the design on the target surface.
  • Smooth the vinyl using a squeegee or scraper, applying firm, even pressure to remove air bubbles.

Peeling:

  • Slowly remove the transfer tape at a sharp angle, keeping the vinyl adhered to the surface.

Lifespan & Removal:

  • Oracal 631 is removable and designed for indoor use.
  • It can last 2–5 years depending on surface, exposure, and care.
  • To remove, peel the vinyl gently. Use mild adhesive remover if needed.

Tip: Test on a small area first to ensure compatibility with the surface. Avoid application on textured, dirty, or oily surfaces for best results.

✂️ Oracal 631 Removable Vinyl – Cutter Settings (Cricut, Silhouette, Brother)

Always test cut before full designs.

Tip: Oracal 631 removable vinyl is *matte* and tends to cut cleanly with light to medium pressure. Always do a small test cut first and adjust blade depth or pressure incrementally if the cut doesn’t go all the way through the vinyl or if it cuts into the backing.

Cricut Explore / Maker:

  • Fine-Point Blade | Setting: Vinyl+ or Vinyl (Matte Vinyl)
  • StandardGrip mat recommended; ensure vinyl adheres well before cutting.

Silhouette 4 / 5:

  • AutoBlade or Blade Setting 1‑2 | Material: Vinyl (Matte)
  • Speed: ~5 | Force: ~10‑12
  • Users report good results with low blade depth and medium force.

Brother ScanNCut DX:

  • AutoBlade | Vinyl Setting | Cut Speed: ~5 | Half Cut: Auto
  • Use test cuts and adjust pressure if necessary.
